One of the best kept secrets in the car business is the Buick Enclave in general and the Enclave Avenir in particular, because these vehicles just offer you more. The Enclave sits on top of the Buick lineup. A position that stretches back into the history of Buick where once the fabled Electra 225 reigned supreme. Yes, we are going back to the time of the Deuce and a Quarter. It will be a short visit. Trust me when I say that the new Enclave Avenir rides better than the wonderful-to-remember Electra 225. more In fact, the 2022 Enclave takes a back seat to no vehicle where the ride is concerned if for no other reason than the competition either does not have 3 rd row seating or the seat is a package item and an afterthought. If you ever visit Oz in a competitor of the Enclave you will be able to get a couple of the flying monkeys back there, but little else. As far as pricing is concerned the Enclave offers you about a $7,000 advantage depending upon the competitor and how much equipment you must add to match the Enclave Avenir. When it comes to cargo space there is no competition for the Avenir. You will have anywhere from 20 to 30 more cubic feet of cargo space in the 2022 Buick Enclave. Plus, a properly equipped Enclave can tow up to 5,000 pounds (about twice the weight of a Clydesdale horse). We may be prejudiced but you be the judge. The Enclave Avenir just has more style than the higher priced competition. Honestly, some of these vehicles, (if they were children) look as if they need braces. When that isn’t the case, they need style. Plain Jane styling may be fine if you are buying a normal SUV but at the top of the food chain you just expect more. The Enclave Avenir is more. More for your money, more room for your passengers, more quiet for your peace of mind and more style for your ego.

Orders are in for the new 2022 GMC Hummer EV and drivers are waiting patiently to hear when they will be available. In the meantime, we're enjoying learning more about this one-of-a-kind vehicle. Sources are saying that the Hummer EV will use Fortnite's gaming platform: Epic's Unreal Engine. Where would a Hummer EV use a gaming platform? “Epic Games' Unreal Engine will power the electric truck's infotainment with its newly revealed human-machine interface.” - CNET.co/RoadShow. So, now we know there is a lot more behind the gaming industry than a bunch of X-Gens wearing their hats backwards and yelling, “Epic!” occasionally.  Gaming is big business with a ‘B’ as in billions.  It makes perfect sense that this type of technology finds its way into automobiles. What we know is that Epic announced that the new Hummer EV will be the first vehicle to use its Human-Machine-Interface, (HMI).  HMI, that’s right, initialism strikes again but get used to it because this is where the future will take us.  We have traveled from Pong and Centipede to HMI in a Hummer EV.  Cool. more An interface based upon the Unreal Engine will directly power the Hummer EV’s digital cockpit.  In addition, the new HMI supports the Qualcom Snapdragon automotive platform, but Epic Games is actively working to integrate Blackberry QNX and Mapbox for even greater support. I have no idea what I just said so, I went to the Blackberry website. It is safe to say that QNX is in the realm of autonomous vehicles. Think in terms of how the HMI will know where you are in relationship to other vehicles and obstacles. You should know what Epic said so here it is, “... the HMI is incredibly design driven and provides an incredible amount of flexibility for automakers, and even future owners... drivers can use downloadable content to totally change the interfaces and customize a digital cockpit to their liking.” The Unreal Engine is the world’s most open and advanced real-time 3D creation tool.  Continuously evolving to serve not only its original purpose as a state-of-the-art game engine.  Creators across industry platforms can deliver cutting-edge content, interactive experiences and immersive virtual worlds. Connectivity is about to take a giant leap.  When planning a trip, a navigation function that could construct a virtual world would be interesting.  Especially, if trip related industries could interject opportunities along the way.  Okay, I just was thinking aloud but let your imagination run with this and all vehicles may be Humming a different tune.

The 2021 GMC Sierra added a few new features and technology to make towing even easier for owners.  Three new trailering features: Trailer Length Indicator; Jack-Knife Alert; and Cargo Bed View Enhancement are all welcome additions The Trailer Length Indicator will appear on the truck’s central infotainment screen when a trailer is hooked up and the turn signal is activated. By displaying a red overlay two-times the length of the compatible trailer on the screen, the driver can easily see which vehicles are present in their blind spot and if there is room for both the truck and trailer in the other lane.  A genius bit of applied technology sure to reduce the blood pressure while towing and keep everyone safer. The Jack-Knife Alert is a system that will track the position of the compatible trailer in relation to the vehicle and provide an alert if a potential jack-knife situation is believed to be imminent.  This kind of information helps keep your head in the game with some high-quality monitoring. more The Cargo Bed View enhancement is comprised of the Cargo Bed Zoom View and Bed Hitch Guidance, which provide a rearward facing view of the truck that helps to align and hook up a gooseneck/fifth-wheel trailer. All three of these innovative uses of onboard technology not only benefit experienced drivers but add another level when training a new driver on proper towing techniques.  Seeing how a trailer tracks during various maneuvers helps everyone keep focused and able to properly anticipate events.
