Everything is easier with the GMC Canyon. There are only four trim levels: Elevation Standard, Elevation, AT4, and Denali. The AT4 and Denali are available exclusively with 4WD. Speaking of 4WD, you can get that on all trims but the Elevation Standard.
The engines kind of work the same way. The 2.5L 4-cyl with a 6-speed is standard and the 3.6L V6 with an 8-speed is available on all trims and standard with 4WD. The 2.8L Duramax Turbo Diesel 4-cyl with a 6-speed is available on all trims but the Elevation Standard.

The best trim for you always depends on how you want to use your Canyon. If you are going off-roading, then the AT4 trim will give you that capability and a factory warranty to go with it. Much better than the after-market route outside of the parameters of the factory warranty.
